Description: This current Order of Business is subject to change.
1. 8:00 a.m. Registration opens. 2. 9:00 a.m. The Temporary Chair(s) will convene the Convention. 3. Opening Ceremony. 4. Temporary Chair(s) calls for petitions for Platform Amendments to be turned in to the Convention Secretary by 10:30 a.m. or 30 minutes after the Final Report of the Credentials Committee is approved, whichever is later. 5. Preliminary Report of the Credentials Committee certifying a quorum. 6. The Temporary Chair(s) appoint Temporary Officers. 7. Approval of the Temporary Delegates and the Temporary Rules. 8. Announcements and Introductions. 9. Invited Speakers may address the Convention (limited to 5 minutes). 10. Youth Delegates go to Caucus. 11. Final Report of the Credentials Committee certifying the seated Delegation. 12. Report of the Rules Committee and Adoption of the Rules of the Convention. 13. Nomination and Election of Convention Chair(s). 14. Convention Chair(s) shall appoint Convention Officers and introduce the Chairs of all Committees. 15. Balloting explanation and practice. 16. Ratification of the Democratic Nominee for Lt. Governor 17. Nomination and election of State Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Chair. 18. Consideration of Amendments to the Iowa Democratic Party Constitution. 19. Consideration of the Statement of Principles 20. Report of the Platform Committee 21. Report of the Youth Caucus. 22. Ratification of all elections. 23. The Convention Chair(s) shall inquire as to further business to come before the Convention. 24. Adjournment. For efficiency’s sake, it is acceptable to go back and forth between different items. For example, alternating between convention speakers, platform debate, and elections.
