Event Description

For 22 years, the Dubuque County Democrats Hall of Fame Celebration has been about one thing above all else: honoring the incredible leaders and volunteers who dedicate themselves to improving Dubuque County.

These are the neighbors who knock doors in the rain.

Who make phone calls after dinner.

Who organize, advocate, mentor, and lead – often without recognition.

On May 9, we gather to celebrate them!

We’ll induct this year’s Hall of Fame honorees, celebrate our Volunteer(s) of the Year, and present the Ann Michalski Distinguished Service Award to someone whose dedication has strengthened our party and our community in lasting ways.

The Hall of Fame Celebration is also our biggest fundraiser of the year.

Celebrating leaders and building momentum go hand in hand. As we prepare for the 2026 midterm elections, the foundation we lay this spring will shape our success in November.

Hall of Fame Nominee(s)

The Hall of Fame honors individuals who have made significant contributions to the Democratic Party and the Dubuque community. Each inductee is a living or deceased Democrat who has championed Democratic and/or progressive ideals in Dubuque and who has dedicated a significant portion of their life to the success of Democrats in Dubuque county.

Ann Michalski Distinguished Service Award

Named after Ann Michalski (a dedicated community activist and city council member who advocated tirelessly for women’s rights, equal rights, juvenile justice, childcare, and many other issues), this award is given to a public servant, local elected official, or party leader who has demonstrated exceptional commitment to public service and community advocacy.
